In your situation keeping your gas might be the right choice, but if you did decide you wanted to trade, the duramax deisel is not the devil everyone on here makes them out to be. Yes oil changes are more, but you can run twice as long so it really doesn't make a difference. Don't know how it is in your area but here right now fuel is close to a buck more than gas, that part does suck! My duramax gets probably 6 to 10 mpg bettter than my last 6.0 did so that helps. (My duramax is deleted and tuned a stock truck might not be that much differance). All I'm saying is that if you decide you wanna try it just for fun it's not going to break you, and unless your extremely unlucky and it's a lemon it's not going to be in the shop every other week with expensive repairs.
