NEMO | I'm assuming you own all that ground is the reason you are able to do that, and that's great. The genie is out of the bottle on a lot of ground though. Easier for younger guys to farm marginal ground than take care of cows on it. If it fails, no big deal, crop insurance bails them out. A whole new set of guys have bought dozers and track hoes and taken out fences, trees and ponds, while getting cost share money to build terraces. Lots of fragile land is being farmed that should be in grass | |
