Subject: RE: Never???

There’s a big feeder in central Nebraska that has atleast 1000 acres of cattle yards between the 3 locations, and one confinement that was built probably in the 70s or 80s. I bet they know very well what their costs are in each and I haven’t seen them build any more. There’s also a smaller feedlot my dad worked at in high school that built a 1000 head confinement in the 70s and all the expanding they did after that was more open lots. There’s really only one large scale confinement I know of and that’s herdco. No doubt they will perform better but they have some huge costs to offset and the million dollar question is will it here or there? All the other confinement’s in the area are farmer feeder types and they aren’t young guys either. The government will be what puts an end to dirt yards though, they will regulate one out of business and subsidize the other to a profit, nothing new for them.
