I like the concept and engineering of the FurrowJet. But the practical aspects of running them aren't so good. Here's what one of my clients had to say about his experience running them in 2017, and whether he was going to run them again in 2019 now that he went away from spoked-rim gauge wheels (which don't play nice with FurrowJet in stalks): "No. Too many things to go wrong. With the small nozzles on furrowjet you need very clean fertilizer and also nozzles will plug if you don't run fluid thru them all the time. Mini tail [firmer] wears out fast. I was able to sell them last spring. they muddied up with roots when a little wet, when starting in spring. Wrap around (ball up) and do not slice sidewall Work well in dry soils. I did lose two from breakage." |
