| I had figured up the electric for the grinder and mixer/ labor at $20 hour/ fuel in the truck/ repairs a lot high/ and paying for the initial price of the setup (mill and truck) over a ten year period. It was well under $7/ton, closer to $5 but I like to figure plenty high. Actually now I think the mill that I would have used is $16/ton, but they were 14 when this got put together.
As far as repairs in the last 5 years it’s been a couple “1 auger bearings, some new belts on augers and the mixer, and 1 new motor, a new airlock for the blower to the ground corn bin, new hammers/screen annually which are less than $150 and some odds and end things on the grinder. The truck has had more getting it put together and everything working right, but I have that price figured in the initial price above. Since then it hasn’t taken much either.
