So... After about a month of rain and snow we finally were able to finish the last 250 acres of soybeans in early December. Since it was so late and we didn't know when the next storm would come, we just combined and dumped them all in the barn. Our drying facility is way to slow to keep up in conditions of 20 percent beans and so now we have a pile with significant layers of fermentation. Not much mold but where it sat for a few weeks at + 20 percent it actually started to ferment. We are drying them up but don't know if it's worth trying to bring them to the elevator or will we need to roast them all and sell to a dairy. They don't seem too discolored for the most part but if we get a load rejected I'd rather not have them inspecting everything with a fine toothed comb. What do I do?!
