Subject: RE: Sidedress Machine

York, NY
About 4 years ago we purchased a Great Plains Nutri-Pro 4000. One of the best investments we've ever made... more than paid for itself in the first year. We special ordered it with fertilizer knives instead of the standard coulter setup, so it kind of looks more like an NP-40L. The reason for doing so was for more consistent depth control in varying soil conditions. One of the downsides to it is that it does tend to bring rocks up but we also like it to get a little bit of aeration. It's set up as a 15 row machine with a rate and a half on the outside to match our 16r planter but can be set up for 17 rows or 16 too, for pre-plant (the brackets for the hitch are moveable). We run veriflow nozzels with a hyd pump, 4 section setup with JD rate controller. Works very well for VR and in NY we have a LOT of point rows so the section control is nice.
