Subject: TS Performance chips: how do they work?

We have a 9220 thats needs a bit of a hp bump (I think my 8400 will pull right with it). Saw Scheid diesel advertised these chips on their website so I called and asked how they work. Response I got was we havent had good luck with them and they are hard on fuel systems, steinbauer is much better. I asked why and he said because they just fool a sensor and increase rail pressure which is hard on everything ). There was a pause on the phone when I told him a 12.5L doesnt have a common rail, then started backtracking. So does anyone know how these chips work to get more power? Which parameters does it change and has anyone had issues with them throwing ECU codes?

A shout out to Scheids also if you are going to LIE to try to sell something that makes YOU more money you better know your stuff. The ts chip was about 400$ compared to steinbauer $2700.
