Any ideas of how to stop a horse from chewing on practically anything wooden, mostly just during the winter?
The vet doesn't think he has a sore tooth, etc. or short on a nutrient.,,,just bored and has the habit. He just seems to always be needing to chew on sagebrush or wooden posts, braces, corral rails, corners of a wooden barn, etc. He is usually with one other horse....We have tried painting trouble areas with used motor oil/grease mixture.....helps some for a while.
Thanks for any help! Rod

Somewhat regular coating with a cheap hot sauce could provide some entertainment.
