I don't think you gotta worry about that happening at all If the whole goal is just to squeezed and profit from the farmer why not just buy the competition in create a monopoly kind of like what just happened with monsanto and du pont. The ROI would be much higher than trying to buy a bunch of farmland just so you can get guaranteed business. Seems like Going rate cash rent for purchase forms around here would be a 2 1/2 to 2% return on investment before property taxes. Not many publicly traded CEO's will be that dumb. Look at this chart from farm lane partners looks like it's working great for them. What would these companies do about farmers who own their own land?
