Churdan, IA | Not on top of strips for that test. We have done both ways and see no statistical benefit either way. We chose to strip till our larger fields that are easy to stay on the strip of black dirt, but we conventional till the headlands and smaller farms as it's hard to stay on the strip and the corn emerges slowly in un-tilled dirt. So we get some tilliage savings without losing yeild in larger fields. We aren't focused on cost savings as much as we are on maximizing profitability on each individual farm. | |
