NNY | We are fortunate to be located near a large dairy and heifer facility and get manure from several manure pits. We are supplied with a manure analysis from each, the analysis lists Total Nitrogen, Ammonium Nitrogen, Organic Nitrogen, Phosphorus (P), Phosphate Equivalent(P205), Potassium(P), Potassium Equivalent(K20). My question is which do I use for calculating how much NPK is being supplied and how much is available in first year at a know rate of application? I know only a percentage is available in first year and it will depend on many factors but assume that it is surface applied in the fall on corn stubble and disked in the fall. | |
