We do tip the baggage handlers that greet you curbside at the airport, usually they can and do check you in partially or totally in, and we don't have to have my wife struggle with the bags, trying to get into the line to check in, while i return the rental car.

I did read this winter that you might want to consider slipping a small token gift or piece of factory wrapped candy to the flight attendants or even the person who assigns you seats when you check in. Homemade candy or food treats are a no-no, concern over food safety, which i can totally understand.

As mentioned above, a pleasant attitude and a friendly smile can sometimes go a long way to making someone's day, and they might return with a favor for you later.
