Royal Canin and Eukanuba. I'm biased.

Dog food for the most part is you get what you pay for. You can see the results of a poor dog food in your back yard and your dogs coat. Intake of a high quality food will be lower also.

A lot of skin/scratching issues are from lower quality proteins that contain high levels of histamines. Rancid proteins are another issue with low end products.

Petfood as a whole has improved greatly in the last 10 years and in several cases surpasses human food.

Wife is a vet tech. She gets Royal Canin for our golden retriever. I have casually suggested a couple times that I could pick up something else in town (polite way of saying cheaper etc.), and she just flat out says NO.....a bargain isn't a bargain, cheap dog food leads to bigger land mines in the yard. Quality dog food means more nutritional value with less product. I just learned not to question her when it comes to pets.
