This has been my experience. In my area, the real early beans will mature during a dry spell most years, while the normal (mid May) planted beans get a late shower and are better. Patrick

^^^^^^^^^^^This. MOST years it does not pay me to plant before late May or early June. We plant barley and double crop beans behind the barley. MOST years they yield better than the full season beans planted in late April/early May.

Every area is different.
