Madison Co. Virginia | I've never seen this done, and it may be too extreme to be practical...
Could the mudroom be made waterproof with the ability to hose off muddy boots inside? Vinyl flooring on concrete, 1/120 slope to linear floor drain, lower cabinet doors made of white pvc board and overlap well, baseboard made of pvc board and caulked to the floor, lower three feet of wall covered with hdpe board, and ideally a 4-6" step between the mudroom and the house.
Basically, everything from three feet down would be made of waterproof materials, and those are sealed with caulking and waterproof membrane(used for build-in-place showers) to protect the framing behind.
