I'm with a buddy of mine, he says he doesn't careful what his wife died in the house as long as he doesn't have to help her do it, I like his theory!! My wife doesn't tell me how to organize the shop and I don't tell hey what to do in the house!
I'm on the same page as your buddy.....but I don't want my wife to die in the house.
As long as she doesn't "organize" my desk, alls good :)
If it's not the main entrance to the house, I would be happy with shelves and hooks.
Easy to clean floor and baskets for mittens, gloves and hats.
Edit to add: a gal near by has a chicken nest box on the wall for shoe cubbys,
and egg baskets mounted on the wall for the mittens and hats with hooks for the coats.
Looked neat.....in a chicken house sorta way :)
