It needs room to expand along the wall or in humid conditions it will buckle up. I personally will never use it again and am planning to take mine out. It's a frustrating project to install and mine, when it got wet, swelled in spots and looks like crap.
Exactly why we went with a vinyl version. Very happy so far.
