We went last year and got there the Monday of the week before.  Not all vendors were set up but we could ride downtown and park where ever we wanted.  Spent most of the time out riding in the area.  Stayed the nights in Rapid City.  Here's a picture of the guy that "led" us out there.  He's been, I think 18 times, I've only been maybe 4-5 and most the week or two before or the week after---I don't like crowds.  Parked his bike in front of the Full Throttle and got several people asking if he rode it there from Indiana--and the answer is yes, tractor seat and all!

2nd pic is the trucker that stopped on I74 just east of Farmer City, IL and picked up one of our bikes with a flat tire and hauled it to the dealer in Champaign!!  Heck of a nice guy and really, really helped us out.
