And my biggest gripe of all
- Number of farmers/farms DOWN year after year
- Beef consumption per person consistently DOWN over time
- Stagnant cattle prices being well out paced by inflation
- Checkoff revenue and 'spending' forever going UP
- Way more Anti beef marketing than I ever see pro
- Customers not knowing the very basics about beef
So you have a system designed to promote beef and increase sales - the consumer doesn't know anything about it, is eating less of it. And the farmers are making less money. And they consistently want more money in check off to continue down that road? I think I may want off this bus, sooner than later.
At the risk of getting told (as previously) to get out of cows, your posts are showing EXACTLY why I think that beef boards are legalized larceny!!!! (And I, too, want off the bus!!!!!!!!) |
