western iowa,by Denison | don't remember the year but we plowed with a open station Oliver 1950 tractor and 4 bottom plow in Feb and on the 2nd day of plowing 70 acres by nightfall it got cold-and then it was froze till April 20th. Like it stayed at 20 all day and 10 at night- We have had different winters and seems like you have good and bad-those March Blizzards are the worse-There has been several post's on feeding cattle in stalk fields with portable bunks-we use to feed that way till about2011 when we started building bedding pack barns-30plus years of doing that-do remember all the trouble-several times cattle never got feed because we physically couldn't.
I guess we are one day closer to Spring-I know theres a old saying of having so much feed left after such and such date
Feb and March can be nasty-best enjoy till we get there
