For the feed data I use Google sheets and have a spreadsheet setup with drop down menus for each category of the hog feed. Barn,date,ration ID, medication and group. I use my phone or tablet and enter it as I mix. I have a sheet in the background of the program with the ingredients for each different ration. So all that information is calculated automatically.
I do still keep a paper record just in case.
Sounds like you've got a pretty good setup there. How often do you mix batches? With feeding twice a day for 5-8 pens of cattle, manually entering info would probably be time consuming for me. I've looked into the Performance Beef app, but for the cost I can't bring myself to do it. It automatically keeps track of ingredients as you load. |
