Subject: RE: Beefbiz: one implant vs two

Cullom, Illinois
I normally used a Synovex Choice two time feeding beef cattle. I tried the Synovex One implant this year which is basically the same amount of active ingredient as two choice implants. Obviously not needing to reimplant at around 900#’s is the reason I tried the single implant. But most advised that the slow release of a double implant is not quite perfected. Order buyer says it makes bulls out of them.

Understand I did no side by side trials. Just my visual observations. The cattle seemed to gain as well as last year. But they were leaner and a few got to be rather aggressive. They also finished uneven. Some fat with full briskets and others lean showing some muscle tone. I sold live weight because of this and overall, finish weights were fine.
