| baled and straight alfalfa pasture will bloat cows. Our best pastures are a mix of Brome, orchard, and either red clover or alfalfa. It can be hard to keep quack out of the pastures and hay and a lot of them have that too. Our hay fields are a mix of Timothy, Orchard, brome, Alfalfa and we got eight ton to the acre off of it. We poured the layer manure to it though. We have so much animal ag in this area that litter from broiler or layers is very cheap like ten bucks a ton cheap. So we can afford to fertilize heavily. | |
