Not much. If seeding early, you'll want to run a roller or something like a turbo till or Salford with straight blades after harvest to aid decomposition, especially the first few years.
Using a drill will help chop things up. If you can harvest early, that's good, but you'll get less growth and some wet years you might not get a cover planted at all.
