McLeod County, MN | They are meeting in China for a few days here. My guess is beans are not very high on the list of priorities for either side. I did see that President Xi did send his closest adviser at the last minute. I would guess that means they are desperate.
I dont expect much out of this round of meetings. You dont send the JV and let them negotiate the deal and announce an agreement. Those guys are trying to hammer out the details. Spiking the football is saved for much higher level talks that will happen relatively soon.
North Korea, Taiwan, intellectual property theft, and opening Chinese markets to US companies probably taking most sense of urgency right now. Nice gesture on their part to buy more beans and send Xi right hand man.
