Take the Texas route go to Dallas then east on Interstate 20 to Jackson Mississippi, then southeast on US49 thru Hattiesburg  southeast on US 98 into Mobile, I have went that way several times all four lane roads only heavy traffic is Dallas. You will go thru Vicksburg Miss( national Battefield ) in Mobile go see the Battleship very interesting and cheap. If that type of things interest you go to The Naval Air  Museum In Pensacola Florida only about a hour east of Mobile its free and very good . Other sugestion if the weather is good just come home a different route and see something different.  I have done this route several times trucking and just traveling to Florida. I would avoid as much of Oklahoma and Arkansas as I could. Interstate 40 has a lot of traffic . Between various trips I have taken about all the routes suggested.Interstate 10 is busy have run it from Houston to Florida.
