Subject: RE: JCB skidsrteers

We bought one back in 2015, it was a 190 wheeled machine. Around 400 hours in, the engine dropped a valve and it locked up. I was told the emissions filter plugged and caused it to fail. I'm not a mechanic but I was also told the emissions filter shouldn't plug.

Anyways. Got it back after a month and then a while later the front pin actually broke. It was probably my fault as I didn't grease it as much as I should. They said a few of the pins need replaced every 1000-1400 hours even with religious greasing. This was a problem for us because we put on 1500-1600 hours a year on a skid steer. We owned it 12 months and it was off of the farm probably 2 months total with different repairs.

The side door was nice for sure, but it had it's fair share of problems for us and we traded for a CAT 232D. 3,700 hours in on this machine and the only thing I've touched is a couple hoses and replaced the EGR filter at the 3,000 interval as scheduled. Everything else on the CAT is still in great shape.

Sorry if this doesn't help, it's my only experience with JCB
