That's an idea. A friend of mine has a drive-thru electric gate that I've considered. However with the deer population we have around here messing up electric fences this time of year, I've already got one section of fence that I've got to go out and locate the short. I just disconnected the fencer until I can fix it.  Fortunately its a 5 wire with 4 barb and the middle a smooth hot wire so not an emergency.

It might be an emergency if I was relying on an electric gate to keep them off of the road.

I guess I also don't like doing a big excavating job to put in the other type just for a few months of winter hay feeding in this paddock.  With the side door track loader it's not bad with the conventional pipe gate.  Another reason I traded skid steers is that I felt it was time for a heated cab in our winters! So solved 2 problems with one equipment trade.
