We use to run them. They are not dairy cattle, thick, thick, thick, hard calving. Easy fleshing, with a frame to hang meet on. Ours our flighty. My braunvieh is always the first cow out of the gate.

If your going to screw with them I would buy a half blood bull. Pure blood is just to hard to calve, but I will put them up against any angus for feedlot performance.

Same here. We had a bull for a few years. Definitely not a dairy breed. Most of what I would call the "loud" colored calves were high strung but they were definitely thick and I pulled some of the biggest calves of my life. No rhyme nor reason to the calf sizes though.
