Subject: Framing in behind a fireplace (pic)

Ohio
Yesterday I had someone install a fireplace in our main living room. We recessed it in a bedroom closet to not take room out of the living room. According to the guy installing and the manual it says I can butt wood or drywal right up against the rear. Just have to keep it 1ā€ away from the venting pipe. I am going to keep it at least 1ā€ away from everything but is there anything else I should consider doing. Iā€™m wanting to keep it close so that I can still utilize this closet some. Thanks for any advice.
