North Central Illinois
I think your warning has some merit but I also think that there is some very good dental care offered in Mexico. We have relatives that have had extensive dental work done down in Mexico over the last 20 years. I can't remember what town it is but it is right over the border. The facility was state of the art and the staff was very professional. I expect there are many places where substandard dentistry in substandard facilities is offered. Our relatives have had excellent results in their dealings and have never had even a small issue. It isn't hard to imagine why people opt for this type of care. The price of dental work in the states has gotten to be absolutely obscene. I think more people are without dental coverage than with it. Also many of those who do have coverage find that it covers very little. I would opt for dental care in the right place in Mexico before I would at some of the cut rate places in the states like Aspen Dental.
