I got this book when I first got into woodworking years ago. Not sure how much it helps nowadays, in the age of Youtube, but it covered about anything you could want, from harvesting trees to finishes. After that, the skies the limit for reading and instructional material...subscribed to several magazines, as I built projects I bought the necessary tools. I'm not a hand-tool guy; don't have the patience, and when I started woodworking, I was also running the dairy, not lots of free time for learning how to use hand tools. Now I've got a 5 and a 7 year old, tools gathering dust in the basement. Hope that soon we'll be moving into a new house, and I'll have a proper shop to work in. Good luck!
