Western Nebraska | True that. Pry my biggest concern is condition along bunkline. Wet/snowy means either deep snow and ice or ice turning to mud. Best if cattle not standing in ice cold mud, and feed truck/wagon won't be doing much if feeding in open from both sides of bunk. Would be best if a guy could move bunks around during feeding period, but if froze down won't happen. Just a shift of the issues I guess. Always something to worry about. Maybe bunks on wheels, less chance of freezing down and easier to move around. I've got an old ear corn elevator as a feed bunk, but not enough capacity for silage type rations. | |
