west central wisconsin
We use cloth towels. Buy new towels in 50 pound quantities. Formerly bought used towels from same place that were from hospitals and hotel motel businesses. Same basic deal either way as far as cost per use slightly more for brand new but last longer obviously

Use Bang detergent in 40 pound pail and add bleach

Dry towels completely in electric dryer

Wash towels every milking and dry every milking. Keep 4 plus loads in the rotation so have plenty ready to go

Buy used dryers because they are cheap and last years, pretty straight forward

The LG washers have been awesome. Front load and very very minimal upkeep. They have handled the dirt and sand bedding and use well

We use plenty of bleach as it’s cheap and it and hot water kill bacteria. We are after clean milk and very low somatic counts and bacteria levels , routinely at 1000 and 80,000

Typically using 2 boxes of new towels per year at about $200/50 pound box.
