Ridgway, IL | Almost done with this new receiving barn. 256’ long, 40’ interior, plus 5’ overhangs on north and south side. 4 pens, 2 water fountains, 4 gates. 36” ridge opening. Total cost is 160k, at 40sq ft per hd, 625$/hd space. Zero electricity.
We believe that we can shave 15-20k off the cost by making a few tweaks on design and materials. Specifically going to a 2 pen design, trimming down the concrete, and possibly going to 10’ on center instead of 8’. Our goal is to get down to the bare bones and get our per head cost into the low to mid 500s/ space
To be competitive and grow, we need efficient/economical space.
