central ND/SD border | Buy 1 or 2 or 3 farm sim games, probably be as profitable as trying to manage a second farm in a new area. You can "drive" almost any machine you want. It used to help me when I couldn't farm.
I used to play "John Deere American Farmer" game a lot, too busy now it seems. I was able to modify all the input files to make the game match my real world numbers; costs, yields, current markets. I think it helped me understand profitability and the business side of farming much better. I would adjust the files, then play through a few seasons (in a short time) and see if it would work. With one click of a button I could see all my expenses, and value of cattle/crops. I've created excel spread sheets for my real farm numbers based on that game.
