May never come to it and I hope it dont. I'm sure they would get her social security and pension first but idk if that would be enough. I don't want taxpayers to pay for any thing of ours so u can get off that horse right now. I'm asking for estate planning advice from someone that has been through this..that's all. Our family has taken advantage of what can be gifted over to son or daughter and done it legally . . If they fall short on the 5 year look back so be it then you pay or sell then , If you do nothing well then you know the story . you are correct if you can talk your mom into it you should try to explain it to her . I understand what you are saying . IMO it is m not wrong to try to preserve some family assets. And buy doing so you are not doing the wrong thing , I can see you want to do what fair for your mom and what is legal and proper. You will do fine you just came to the wrong place for advice .Live and Learn . Good Luck |
