| When I was a teenager we got a Chesapeake Bay retriever from the pound. The breed is known to be hard headed but this one was just plain dumb. As a 100# dog he would hide behind the 4" diameter mailbox pole to chase cars on the road. He would run from one end of the field to the other barking and biting at the spinning disk blade. It's a wonder he didn't get his head cut off. Went missing one day and found him sitting in the back seat of my GMC Jimmy SUV. He had jumped through the open driver's side window. Another time he was laying on the hood of my sister's Camero. We ended up taking him back to the pound which hurt my mother's feelings after she had paid to have him neutered. Stuck with Labs after that. | |
