Neither is "better" than the other--both are basically the same program but Premier gives you access to more features in reporting, inventories, etc.

You can start with Pro, which costs less, then if you later find you need some of the features in Premier (most people don't, really), you can upgrade. Upgrading is completely painless...all the "higher" editions of QuickBooks can open company files created by the "lower" editions.

If your tax preparer supports QuickBooks (that is, if he or she is willing to directly access your QuickBooks company files to get information for tax preparation) then he or she won't care which edition you have.
