Trenton, Missouri | We have a cow that got what I assume was lump jaw last year. By the time I realized there was a problem it had ruptured. I was told that I got lucky because it was draining and should heal. It looked good all of this year until here recently I have noticed her jaw is swelling back closer to her neck, the same side. She is due to calve February 1st. I have been told that they need to have IV treatment for this condition that will cause them to abort. I would like to let her calve before I tried that. Does anyone have any pointers? This is the first time I have seen this disorder. | |
