if he wasn't fed out feedlot style to 'develop and test him' he's probably just hitting his prime.
But--nobody has mentioned trich or other reproductive diseases. If you' re not 100% sure of his history, it's worth some testing. and esp if he's your only bull, you want to do breeding soundness, semen check, etc anyway
