You can laugh but we had the bolts that hold the drawbar support on the bottom of a Massey that would not stay tight, welded a strap iron across them for a final fix!
FWIW, manufacturers are getting away from using washers, seems the research says they are not all that much better than none at all, provided bolt stretch is proper.
