SW “Ohia” | jcs,
Here, our township roads (and a good portion of the county roads) are between 8 and 14 feet wide, with ditches a foot or two wide on each side, and then a dense line of trees grown up in old fences. Most of my fields have limited visibility entrances. Heck, most road intersections do.
People here will typically send the pickup out on the road first to either stop traffic, or radio if it is clear.
Working alone in a tractor, well, not many good choices. In some cases I’ll stand in the ditch to watch the road traffic until it is clear, then hop back in the tractor and carefully pull out.
Best solution? Nope. None of these are ideal, but it’s not going to change.
