Tuscola, IL | Granted, payments are still payments and have to come from somewhere, but since it’s not costing anything in interest, I wouldn’t mind the extra 2 years. Realistically, anything can happen to any piece of equipment, but think about the repairs you will do on the older machine in the time the new piece is under warranty. Subtract that from your last two years of payments and it gets closer. Also, that used piece at $50,000 is going to cost you $7500 at 5.5%. So, for arguments sake, say $2500 worth of repairs and you’ve essentially got one year of payment on the new tractor wrapped up in the older machine with interest and repairs.
