SW WI
It is sort of a waste to see these buildings sit empty but....just a lot of factors that went into our decision. I’ve always considered myself and my wife active and in good health but it is amazing how time is not kind to the body. Young 20 somethings working with 230 lb hogs are a different world from a middle aged couple who has gotten a little wear and tear on them pushing close to 300 lb hogs out the door. The last year, even though our plan was in motion, we questioned how much longer can we physically do the work. I’ve always said you see 80 yr olds pull themselves into a tractor or combine but I have yet to see an 80 yr old choring a hog barn daily....or wanting to.

We have a few tentative plans on where we are going from here but nothing set in concrete. Hobbies?....sure would love the time to do a few things but for now it will still be making a living. Got grandkids I would love to spend more time with but we are to young to retire completely.

Yup Crete I’m a quitter.....you know the definition of insanity.
