For a truck idling in the field and no driver(my assumption)? With no real wear and tear other than the engine. Depending on what you use for mileage you are talking over $100 per hour. 2 hours a day for 3 weeks is 42 hours at even a modest $100/hour that is $4200. Then another $2/mile is $1600. Those are pretty conservative numbers and you have about $5000 in rent for 3 weeks of use without having to pay a driver. I would gladly rent my trucks out at that rate. In fact I would go buy trucks if I could get that rate. The wild card in all this is what would the truck owner done with the truck had he not rented it to the poster. Would he have had it on the road every day? If so what would he have earned those 3 weeks after paying the driver? If it was just going to be sitting then I would say he would be happy with anything reasonable. We also don't know what kind of a truck it was. Was it a newer truck worth $80,000 or was it a ragged out million mile farm truck worth $10,000?
