They are awesome heads unless the corn is flat. I think it's because the snoots are kinda stubby and the gathering chain idlers stick out so far. I was told if you add those poly strips to the side of the snoots it will help it feed in better, and not stall out hitting the idlers. Takes up some of that space and directs the stalk in better. I also know if your chains are worn the idlers really stick out. Having new chains helps, first thing I did when I got my head. This is on a 07 roto-disc. I had some leaning and twisted up from late wind, but it still fed in reasonable. I still don't see myself going away from a Geringhoff, especially being all COC.
Do you have 9 or 6 lug gathering chains? Mine are 9
