Subject: Crop Insurance

Someone brought up the question below that without SUBSIDIZED crop insurance, who would extend lending dollars to the farmer? My question is.. in a world where the market isn’t skewed by government involvement, who will plant that acre? You claim that no one will find financing thus that acre goes unplanted. Follow that logic to inputs..

What happens to the value of assets? Do you honestly think land prices would maintain that if the level of risk was accurately priced into the asset? That future stream of subsidies is capitalized into land values..FACT! Stop the “feeding the world argument.” Dumbest counter point ever.

It’s a harsh world but gov involvement probably has put legs under many operations when in reality, that capital should of went somewhere else through private means, NOT public means.
