We have a wean to finish hog buildings with pits. I have been wondering about the possibility of irrigating this manure. Has anyone ever tried or worked with this. I have seen it done from lagoons but never pit manure. Thinking about diluting with water somehow so as not to burn growing crops. Also am wondering about plugging tips and how this can be eliminated or reduced. Let me know if anyone has done this and how you accomplished.

Are you wanting this for the nutrient value or the "water value"?

Everytime we have hauled out "manure" out of old partial slat finisher in the dead of summer with pigs wasting tons of water (pit holds about a month of summer storage vs 2.5 or 3 months in winter), that finishing manure burns the living daylights out of any pasture it gets applied to.
